The mission of Good Bumblebee is promote sources of positive energy. In other words, people and companies who are actively working to be forces for good in the world.
A company that has long been a favorite of ours is Patagonia. Founded by Yvon Chouinard in 1973, Patagonia has served as an example of ethical business and environmental activism for many, many years.
Patagonia offers clothing made from a variety of materials including recycled plastic bottles, organic cotton, and, recently, hemp. The story of hemp is amazing. Politically demonized because of its close genetic relationship to marijuana and vilified by competing corporate interests in the early 1900s, hemp, a once vibrant and foundational crop in the United States, was banned.
This video from Patagonia is amazing and provides insight into the benefits of hemp and its history. Enjoy!
